Visualization Laboratory Policies
These are a few basic policies of the Visualization Laboratory to ensure smooth
operation of the lab for all users. We will do our best to accommodate any unusual needs.
For further details, contact Darren Stevenson or read the Visualization Laboratory General Information
page.
- Keycards are not to be shared. Each Visualization Laboratory user must be independently registered.
- Sharing of any keycards issued or admitting non-registered users into the Visualization Laboratory is
grounds for terminating access to the Visualization Laboratory for current registered users.
- Guests are welcome in the Visualization Laboratory if accompanied by a registered
user. The guest should not use any of the Visualization Laboratory equipment
personally.
- Consultants are available during the hours posted on the
consultant
schedule. Outside of
these hours special arrangements should be made.
- No equipment, manuals, or other items should be removed from the Visualization Laboratory without prior
consent of the ITG staff. Please see the equipment page
for more
information on what is available for checkout.
- Users should not move, rewire or reconfigure ANY Visualization Laboratory equipment (including
Audio/Visual). Failure to follow this guideline will result in the permanent removal from
the Visualization Laboratory. If you need a different configuration than is required, see a consultant or email
Visualization Laboratory.
- Users are not to install software on any computer. Ask a consultant for help if you need
access to a particular package: we try to accommodate all software needs.
- The Visualization Laboratory supports university-related and sponsored projects only.
Projects related to class, major, and/or degree requirements qualify as
university-related.
- Users are responsible for all 3D printing material costs,
even when the resulting print is not what was expected. The only
exception to this is when the resulting print is in error due to
an equipment malfunction or staff mistake. ITG is not
responsible for failed prints due to model problems.
- All University policies apply in the Visualization Laboratory.
