This image was captured using the Kodak DCS 330 camera mounted at prime focus on the 105 year old refracting telescope at the University of Illinois Observatory. The images show the two main types of lunar surface terrain: the maria (upper image) and the highlands (lower image). The upper image is centered on Mare Tranquillitis, landing site of Apollo 11. Both images cover a 920 x 690 mile area.
