This composite of the topography and luminescence images of an array of gallium nitride (GaN) pyramids was created using the near-field scanning optical microscope (NSOM) in the Microscopy Suite. The images were obtained by Xiuling Li and rendered by Glenn Fried and Rob Gillespie using Alias|Wavefront's Maya in the VMIL.
